Dragons’ Apprentice Challenge

A massive congratulations to “Team Brain Waves” for participating in the 2019-20 Dragons’ Apprentice Challenge and being awarded four out of seven of the categories available. This was a difficult task with much of the challenge taking place virtually. It is a testament to “Team Brain Waves” who not only adapted to the change, but also took it upon themselves to continue their great work from home independently. Members of “Team Brain Waves” include:

  • Josh Thurston
  • Phoebe Potts
  • Emily Whorlow
  • Sammy Porter

The team were successful in the following categories:

  • Most Money Raised – Sponsored by Barclays
  • Best Example of Close Co-operation with Charity – Sponsored by CVS for Broxbourne & East Herts
  • Best Poster – Sponsored by Love Hoddesdon BID

The final award was given to an “Outstanding Individual” for how well they have worked throughout the challenge. This was awarded to Sammy Porter (jointly with a student from The Broxbourne School). The Super Dragons were extremely impressed with Sammy and have sent a message through to Sammy and the team for their excellent work, which you can watch here: link

From all the teams participating this year over £4,500 was raised for local charities and voluntary organisations. This has been a great opportunity for all involved to build on their employability and enterprise skills. We will look to launch the 2020-21 Dragons’ Apprentice Challenge in September to all members of our Sixth Form community.
