Teacher of Key Stage 3 English & Maths – ideal for a primary specialist wishing to teach in secondary – January or April 2020 start

MPS/UPS £25,543-£37,151 depending on experience

SEND Learning Support Assistant

Exam Invigilator

Start date: Immediate
Pay: £9.74 per hour
Hours: Variable
Closing date 20th December 2019

Experience would be great although not essential. Being local to these areas is preferable.

  • ensuring a calm environment which will give students the best possible opportunity to be successful in their exams
  • Helping to organise students at the start and end of each exam
  • Helping to provide the correct information and material for successful completion of the exam
  • Helping to ensure that the conduct of the exam takes place within the guidelines set down by the examination board and the school’s Examination Policy
  • Being vigilant, whilst not disrupting the candidates
  • Reporting in the event of any discrepancy or irregularity in the progress of an examination directly to the examination officer
  • At the end of examinations to help make sure that answer booklets have been completed correctly, and to help ensure that question numbers have been entered in the appropriate box on the front of the answer booklets
  • Collecting exam scripts in order, by candidate number

We give a lot of attention to appointing the right person.

For shortlisted candidates, on arrival you will usually meet the Principal or Vice Principal. We will give you chance to see the school, talk to students and meet colleagues. When appointing new teachers, we always observe you teaching a lesson. We may also ask you to mark some students’ work or to write an email to a parent/carer. The interview itself will last no more than 30 minutes after which you will usually be free to leave: we will telephone you later in the day with the outcome of the interview process and offer verbal feedback to all candidates.
