Great success for Haileybury Turnford Year 11 students

Students are celebrating today at Haileybury Turnford in Cheshunt as GCSE and other vocational qualification results are published.

Principal, Robin Newman, said, “Our students should be very pleased with their results today.  They have worked so hard during the past 2 years, and have shown great commitment and resilience throughout this period.  They are a wonderful group of students and we wish each of them all good wishes as they continue their studies at sixth form or college, or begin an apprenticeship or work.”

Mr Newman added his thanks to staff.  “Haileybury Turnford staff have worked tirelessly with our students, and the excellent teaching, encouragement and support to our students has culminated in such a positive set of exam results today.”

Dylan Aziz achieved 3 grade 8s, 4 grade 7s, 2 grade 6s and Distinction*, Tiago Cabaco achieved 1 grade 9, 3 grade 7s and 1 grade 6, Nazir Charalambous achieved 3 grade 8s, 4 grade 7s and 2 grade 6s, Ruby Gunes achieved 2 grade 9s, 1 grade 8, 2 grade 7s, 3 grade 6s, Distinction and Distinction*, Sultan Guzel achieved 3 grade 8s, 2 grade 7s, 3 grade 6s and Distinction*, Kailey Hampton achieved 1 grade 9, 1 grade 8, 5 grade 7s and 3 grade 6s, Grace Heywood achieved 1 grade 9, 2 grade 8s, 4 grade 7s, 1 grade 6 and Distinction*, David Kilcommons achieved 1 grade 9, 4 grade 8s, 3 grade 7s and Distinction*, Leah Routledge achieved 3 grade 9s, 4 grade 8s and 2 grade 7s, Danny Smith achieved 3 grade 9s, 1 grade 8, 1 grade 7, 2 grade 6s, 2 Distinction*, and we are delighted that they are all joining Haileybury Turnford Sixth Form to continue their studies.  Henry Gibbons achieved 1 grade 9, 2 grade 8s, 2 grade 7s, 2 grade 6s and 2 Distinction* and he is starting an apprenticeship.

Haileybury Turnford Year 13 students achieve excellent destinations

Haileybury Turnford is delighted to report very many outstanding achievements by its students in their A Levels and vocational qualifications today.

Robin Newman, Principal, said: “We are immensely proud of all the work and achievements of our students, making it through an incredibly tough two years.  This group of students were unable to sit GCSE examinations in 2020 and so this summer’s exams were the first external assessments taken by them.  They have achieved tremendously well, and we are very proud of the wonderful range of destinations secured.”  Mr Newman added, “Our teachers have worked tirelessly to ensure students are all able to progress onto further study and employment.  We wish each of our students every success in the future beyond Haileybury Turnford.”

Barney Howlett achieved A A A in Engineering, Mathematics and Physics and will study Renewable Energy Engineering at the University of Exeter.  Francesca Sorce achieved A* A B in Psychology, History and English Literature and will read Law also at the University of Exeter.  Jack Ferris achieved Distinction Merit Merit in IT, Children’s Play, Learning & Development and Sports Studies and will be starting work as a Classroom Play Assistant at Brookland Junior School.

Navpreet Shivalkar, Head of Sixth Form, added: “Our students have worked so very hard throughout their time in sixth form.  We have witnessed real ambition from students, with very many accepting places at university in greater numbers than in previous years.  This results from the very high expectations and belief in our students from teaching staff and Haileybury Turnford Sixth Form continues to provide life changing opportunities for its young people.”
