Welcome to our Year 7 students

Welcome to our new Year 7 students and families for September 2026
We are delighted to be fully subscribed with a big jump in first preferences for September 2026.
This year, HT has been the first-choice school for a record number of families, reflecting our growing reputation in the community. We are excited to welcome our new Year 7 students from across local primary schools this September and look forward to supporting them and their families through our upcoming transition events.
It is an exciting time to join Haileybury Turnford:

- We were awarded with a Certificate of Excellence in 2024 for Secondary School of the Year – Making a Difference in the Pearson National Teaching Awards.
- Exam results for our Year 11 students in English and maths were the best ever in 2025 and the best ever for sixth formers in 2024.
- Our Principal, Mr Newman, was awarded a Silver Award for Headteacher of the Year in a Secondary School in the Pearson National Teaching Awards, and many other members of staff were also successfully nominated and recognised in the 2023 awards.
- We won an Outstanding Governor Award in the Hertfordshire Governance Awards in 2023.
- We were awarded with a national school attendance award for Autumn Term 2025 for our attendance being in the top 25% of similar secondary schools in England.
- One of our English teachers was awarded with a Certificate of Excellence for Outstanding New Teacher of the Year and one of our Design & Technology teachers was awarded with a Highly Commended certificate for Teacher of the Year in a Secondary School, in the Pearson National Teaching Awards in 2022.
- Our Safeguarding and Pastoral Team was awarded with a Certificate of Excellence in the Pearson National Teaching Awards in 2022 for the Unsung Heroes Award.
