On Tuesday 11th February 2020 we will be celebrating Safer Internet Day. Safer Internet Day will encourage the students to explore how they manage their online identity, and how the internet shapes how they think of themselves and others. We want Safer Internet Day to celebrate the differences we all have and help us work towards creating a truly inclusive internet.
Coordinated by the UK Safer Internet Centre, the campaign will focus on what makes up young people’s online identity – such as the facts or characteristics about them, how others perceive and interact with them, as well as how online services identify them. At Haileybury Turnford through assemblies and form time activities we will look at whether the internet allows the students to express themselves or if they feel limited in who they can be online. By opening up conversations around online identity, we aim to inspire the students to support each other in being who they want to be and to be safer online.
