Year 13 Exam Results 2019
Year 13 students at Haileybury Turnford are celebrating their exam results in this year’s A Level and vocational examinations today. We are very pleased to announce that this year’s A Level grades show an increase in the number of A*-B grades compared to 2018. Our vocational results also continued their excellent performance of previous years with outcomes remaining high. More students than in previous years will be starting at top universities including two students gaining places at Oxford and Cambridge.
The majority of students have won places at their first choice of university including Liam Kline who achieved A* A A in History, Economics and English Literature and will now take his place at the University of Cambridge to read English. John Pearce achieved A* A* C in Maths, Physics and English Literature and will attend the University of Oxford to read Physics. Daisy Jarvis achieved A* A B in PE, Economics and History and will study Sport and Exercise Science at Loughborough University and Matthew Curry, Head Boy achieved A B C in PE, Maths and Biology and will study Sport and Exercise Science at the University of Nottingham. Megan Pope achieved A* B B in Sociology, History and English and will study English at the University of Nottingham. Rebekah Dawes achieved A B Distinction in Sociology, History and Health & Social Care and will be studying Primary Education at the University of Hertfordshire.
Students have also accepted Higher Level Apprenticeships. Kyra Daley has successfully gained an Accountancy apprenticeship with MacIntyre Hudson and starts with them in September after achieving B B B Distinction* in Accounting, Engineering, Product Design and Business. George Jenkins achieved A in Economics and B in Accounting alongside a Distinction in Business.
The school has had excellent results in a wide range of A Level subjects including Economics, Maths, Media, PE, Physics and Sociology. There has also been real student success across the range of vocational subjects offered with many top grades achieved in BTEC Business.
Principal Robin Newman said: “We are very pleased with the results achieved by our sixth formers. Students who have worked hard, supported by their committed teachers have been rewarded with excellent university and work-based pathways beyond our sixth form. These results demonstrate that the school is providing high quality support for sixth form students. I would like to thank our dedicated staff team, and wish every student great success in the future.”
Navpreet Shivalkar, Head of Sixth Form, added: “Support received from our sponsor school, Haileybury, has directly led to our students successfully applying to, and being accepted at both the Universities of Cambridge and Oxford and many other highly competitive universities. Both A Level and vocational results continue to be excellent with students attaining well and securing places at university, apprenticeships and the world of work.”
Haileybury Turnford, sponsored by Haileybury in Hertford Heath, has a comprehensive sixth form whose students benefit from the support from its sponsor.
Year 11 Exam Results 2019
Haileybury Turnford students are celebrating their exam results in this year’s GCSE and vocational examinations today. Students have been receiving GCSE results in the reformed GCSE qualifications with more challenging content and exams graded with 9 as the highest mark and 1 the lowest.
Students have been hugely successful across many subjects and across the ability range with many very happy students benefiting from their hard work, and supported by their committed teachers.
Amongst the school’s highest achievers were Sam Marendaz with a seven Grade 9s and three Grade 7s and Abbie Wagstaff with five Grade 8s and two Grade 7s. Calvin Kanu achieved a Grade 9 in Maths, 8s Biology, Chemistry and Physics and high grades in all of his other subjects. Iasmina Khakipour achieved a Grade 9 in Geography as well as a Grade 8 in English Literature and high grades in her other subjects. Connor Gibson achieved two Grade 9s in Combined Science, a Grade 8 in Geography and Grade 7 in Maths. Twins, Bernice and Candice Boatin achieved very well, achieving high grades across their subjects, including Grade 7s in English Language, English Literature and Maths for Bernice, and Grade 6s in English Language, English Literature and Maths for Candice. Andreea-Florina Lazar achieved three Grade 8s in English Language, English Literature and Religious Studies and five other Grade 7s. All students plan to study for A Levels at Haileybury Turnford.
Principal Robin Newman said: “We are very pleased with our Year 11 results today which show great success for our hardworking students across the full range of subjects – student progress has been stronger than last year. We wish each of our students the best for their future as they continue their studies with us in our sixth form or move onto college, an apprenticeship or work.”

These exam results follow last week’s excellent A Level and vocational examination success for Year 13 students and provides further evidence of the progress Haileybury Turnford is making as an academy with its sponsor Haileybury.
