We have been clear since schools were closed back in March and the decision was made to cancel all exams this summer that we would fully support our students in their transition to sixth form. I want you to hear this reassurance today.
We recognise that you might have growing anxiety from seeing the national media coverage surrounding A Level exam results and implications for GCSE exam results in England this week.
Your teachers know you and your ability inside out, and we will not let a ‘government computer’ determine your future in terms of the grade we will credit you with for your Haileybury Turnford Sixth Form place. We will focus on the grades we have recommended for you, and we fully expect to be able to offer every single Year 11 student a Sixth Form place for next year, come what may. If the centre-assesed grade we recommended for you suggested you were able to meet the entry criteria for a particular subject, then you will be eligible to study it with us.
We look forward to seeing you for Results Day on Thursday this week. Further details about how this will work and how we will keep you safe when collecting results will be sent to you this week by Mrs Shivalkar and Mr Walsh.
All good wishes
Robin Newman
Principal
