Year 9 students graduate from The Scholars Programme

Haileybury Turnford celebrates Year 9 students as they graduate from unique university access programme, The Scholars Programme, run by education charity The Brilliant Club.

The hardworking students produced challenging university-style essays after being encouraged to think and work independently across seven tutorials with a subject expert PhD researcher. The students were given a university-level grade on their final essays and a special mention should go to Marissa Cabaco and Lacey Paddick for receiving 1st Class grades, an exceptional achievement. Mr Ewan Macaulay, Assistant Principal at HT, commented “congratulations to our Year 9 graduates, they showed excellent resilience to complete such a challenging task whilst managing their routine studies in school. They have gone above and beyond what we expected of them, with 80% of the graduates receiving a grade 2:1 or 1st! The staff at HT are extremely proud of their achievements.”
